fords - number 1 all over heaven

Turns out I have labyrinthitis, an infection in my middle ear. Cue the Creature Shop, an ugly baby and Mr B in tights.

Mu Beta

**taps foot**

You remind me of the babe
What babe?
The babe with the power.
What power?
The power of voodoo?
Who do?
You do.
Do what?
Remind me of the babe...

Worried I can still remember that...

That's the only bit of dialogue I can remember - shocking, isn't it?

The only other thing I remember is that the little worm in the outer wall of the labyrinth is played by Timothy Bateson, because that's my brother's name.

Mr. Dreadful - But really I'm not actually your friend, but I am...

I saw my baby cryin' hard as babe could cry
What could I do?
My baby's love had gone and left my baby blue
Nobody knew
What kind of magic spell to use
Slime and snails
Or puppy dog tails
Thunder or lightning
And baby said...
smiley - musicalnote

I'm so sad...

pffffft

Did you know that two of the 'fire demon' puppets that hassle Sarah (after she has gone through the doors of certain death (dum dum dum) and escaped the oobliat) by trying to pull her head off are actually voiced by Danny Jules, the Cat from red Dwarf and the incomprehensible barman in lock stock.

Another smiley - yawn labrynth fact brought to you from me.

It is my little daughters favorite movie - she's only four and totally loves the big cuddly Ludo(?)

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side...

I used to love that film smiley - erm even though now as I think back I remember only bits and bobs of it, and most seem to ahve been stolen ideas from elsewhere smiley - erm or perhaps I've gone chronologically out of sync and the reverse is the case and the origionality Qua origionality was the other way round smiley - erm

I think you'll find the latter is the case. On the DVD you get a 'Making of' featurette which is wicked. I think the film is packed full of quality ideas and only wish Henson had made more films of this genre, Sir Diddymus the Fox riding his dog Ambrosious across the stepping stones in the bog of eternal stench accompanied by farting sounds is comedy genius. Sad I know. But Labrynth, along with the Princess Bride and Charlie and the Chocolate factory, are the films my kids watch over and over and over and over.

I admit I'm guilty of chucking these more sort of obscure films at them that I like along with Disney more mainstream kids fodder and just hope some of them stick. Other ones they have liked (sort of) have been Krull (cos it's got a princess in it), Flash Gordon (cos it's got a princess in it) and the teevee series Monkey (cos it's got a mnokey in it). This weekend I've got what I think is a doozy. I grabbed a copy of 'Bugsy Malone' the classic kids musical and am gonna watch that with em. No princesses or monkeys in it but they gonna love it.

The best thing is the way that Pigsy keeps going up to nearly every woman he comes across and saying 'ahhhh you're a pretty little thing arent you! how about a kiss for Pigsy then?' and then it turns out shes a water demon or the daughter of a demon or something.

The narrator is way cool to 'The nature of monkey was irrepresible!'
