h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I went to see the movie Serenity over the weekend with Roy. It's had hardly any publicity and the cinema tell me it's not going down well, as people are shy of seeing sci-fi moves. Pity. It's brilliant! A2890866

Great story. Summer Glau, the woman who plays River Tam is extraordinary (she's a trained ballet dancer). As I know these characters so well, it's difficult to see what a fresh audience would think of it, yet the audience who saw it with us was very appreciative. I do hope it's a success - I've waited for this to come out for such a long time.

It's a 15 over here, although some of the TV show was more violent than this. Will you be able to get her in the cinema? Let me know what you think of it - I'm still really impressed and I want to see it again.

Yes, it's based on the TV series and I was really impressed with it. It doesn't seem to have had a great deal of promotion and it seems the film company is relying on word-of-mouth promotion. It sheds some light on the background in the original series and I think it's a cracking good yarn. I'll probably see it again at the cinema and I'll definitely get it when it's out on DVD.

Is it worth seeing if you've never heard of the TV series?

Difficult for me to say as I really know the characters well, however I think it may well stack up on its own. Is it on over there at the moment?
