Oh, and an easteregg that had me literally rolling around the floor in hysterics - Gollum's acceptance speech at the MTV Movie awards!

Add that to six hours worth of documentaries and four commentary tracks for the film and it was probably the best 45 Euros I've spent this year (since the extended version of The Fellowship of the Ring).

Heck, so it's a couple of pounds cheaper than I paid... but I couldn't have put up with the wait!

I'm being a good girl and waiting till they all come out as a box set. then I'll get someone else to buy it for me. Then I'll set aside a long weekend and go LOTR stir crazy!

Until then, I'll probably nick someone elses to watch...

Not even a hardened hootooer like yourself could manage 72 hours straight - without food, sleep or alcohol!

I did say a long weekend. And who said I watch without food and alkiehol. and there is every probability that I'll fall asleep during it...At least through the first one

I must agree with Whisky, excellent edition and well worth the wait.

There's even some of Tom Bombadil's lines. So he's there in spirit, if not in person.

I'm also pleased to see that Aragorn will take the Paths of the Dead in ROTK. I was getting worried since Dunharrow didn't appear in the theatrical release of TTT.

Looks like being a good finale.

Which region DVD do you have? The easter egg doesn't appear to be on my region two dvd... *insanely jealous*

It's a region 2 disk too, albeit one for the French market (i.e. languages choices are french and english... but as far as I know it should be there.

Ahh, just seen something in another thread... apparently the MTV awards Easter Egg got left off of the UK version as it would have boosted the DVD to a 12 certificate (I must admit, even the French version has a track due to Gollum's language) - So you'll just have to imagine what happens

I have the German version of the R2 disc... any ideas if the easter egg is on there?

No idea to be honest... the only reason I can think of it not being on the UK release is for some kind of copyright reason... apparently, the certificates are the same
