And again, I come in just under the wire What makes it especially annoying is that I think of all sorts of things that could maybe be interesting when I'm away from home, but when I actually have a chance to write something, I'm completely blank. Oh, well...

Start by writing about anything at all. After a while you'll get the knack of writing about interesting things.

I know exactly what you mean Amy, when I'm doing something, or just sitting dreaming somewhere away from the keyboard I often think of something that would be good to write about.
How're your chickens settling in? How long until that first egg?

One thing that impressed me about the western United States was how far everything was from everything else. You could write about that. I don't just mean "We're very far from everywhere". You could say how it affects your life. If you have to drive for 12 hours to get to a big city, does this mean that you never go to the big city? Does your small city have everything that a body could need? Or do you do without? Get it delivered? Is there a giant voyage to San Francisco for Christmas Presents?
