What lovely photographs.

Faith has grown up so much and is such a lovely looking little girl.

I love the ones of Faith with the two of you. I do believe that it is the first time that I have seen a photograph of Tom. How do you do my friend?

It is a wonderful record to have. I am intrigued as to how a river came to be called the Smith River!! Also those quite beautiful pastures with wild flowers. It looks just like Switzerland. Where were the photographs taken?

Dear Amy you have faded away and look like a sixteen year old.! Far too young to have a daughter like Faith.

Anyway, thank you so much for sharing them with us. I am going to download one of Faith and place it on my sideboard. My first online grandchild - or perhaps I should say great grandchild!!.

The Smith River was named after Jedediah Smith, who was, I *think*, the first white man to explore this area. It's a lot cleaner than the Klamath River, which is the longest river (or was that the 2nd longest?) in California, and has the unusual distinction of having most of the agriculture along it being nearere the source instead of nearer the mouth like most rivers. another interesting little factoid about this area is that 95%+ of the potted Easter lilies sold in the world are grown outside the town of Smith River
