We Will Rock You - the show

I went to see WWRY (at the Dominion, London) last night and all I can say is...
Guaranteed to blow your mind!
It is fantastic and I recommend anyone to go and see it - especially if you are a Queen fan. The singers were superb - all of them. The storyline was amusing and thought-provoking. The staging was "dynamite with a laser beam" (well - about 12 laser beams actually!!)
The guy that played the lead baddy (Khashoggi - played by Alexander Hanson) looked so much like Roger Taylor that I kept thinking it was him!!
aka - please post this link to the website on your page

I'd love to know what anyone else who has been thought of it.

Hello?
Am I the only person who has been to see this masterful performance? Surely not?
If so then may I recommend that you, as a Queen fan, go and see it NOW!

I hope so : though as I say, I thought it was ment to be this weekend; worked out well it wasn't as I've an interview wednesday, but Its so tricky contacting my friend, who got the tickets and is going, as he works funny hours, so I useually let him ring me, or I end up waking him up in the middle of his* night So I pressume it must be next weekend, unless something has changed

Went last night
My friend and his GF came down Sunday afternoon, went out to pub Sun night, had meal, drunk beer Got up earlyish Monday, got train at 9 something from Cambridge to Kings X, delayed but at least it didn't derail like the one this morning did at kings X Got tube to Kensington went round some shops, did a bit of shopping, had lunch in Harrods wondered up to tube, got tube to Totenium Cort Rd, and were supprised to see the Daminican Theature directly in front of us Oh, we'd popped into a few pubs in Kensington and round Hyde park earlyer as well As we knew where the theature was, we popped down the pub for a few hours, and had a meal Then went to the show We had pretty good seats; quite near the front My general view of teh show was I really enjoyed it The band musitions and singing was all really top notch, and that certainly added a lot to it.
As for the storey and the plot, this was, I say, in essence a very predictible plot, that has appeared in different forms many times. However, the play was so pumped full of gags, jokes, funny one liners, that it made it really rather different and good I was supprized they broke it up with a intervial in teh middle, as it wasn't too long in total, it would have probably worked even a little better had it run straight through Though I would say that as I didn't need the toilet till the show had totally finished I found it very funny, with lots of nice references to stuff about at the moment; especially the idea of the 'big company' featured in the play (the name of which I can't remember cause it sounds too simular to the company that it is obviously representing), is clearly 'microsoft' by a different name and there were lots of references like that I found very funny The venue was great, sound quality amazing, acustically a pretty good venue, and the audience (certainly on teh night I was there), were very receptive and well ehaved And, of course it was full of Queen music I'd recomend it, though we did get our tickets at reduced price, and it would have been a lot* more expensive for the three of us (including rail and tube fares), had we got the theature tickets at full price Well, guess they are in teh busness of making money at the end of the day

Argh! Blast it all.
Why can't anyone figure out to bring the show out of the UK? You'd think at least a small tour or short run in the US would be feasible. A musical based on ABBA is a huge broadway hit but We Will Rock You isn't worth the risk? I can't fathom the idiocy in that. I fear I'd do damage to myself trying to grasp it.
My brain hurts.

Just read on Brian's site that there is no chance right now of an American tour. Does anyone know if there are plans for a DVD release or anything?
