Call me naive but I'd of thought that you could get steak in Africa? But there you go.
I tried being a vegetarian once. I lasted 1 week. I tried to make Humus but it went wrong somewhere and it tasted awful. I've only just been able to eat it again. Afraid I missed meat too much. I am fairly well aware of where we get it from though, and try to not be hypocritical about it all, like the housewives quite happy to handle a plucked, headless chicken from Safeway, but would balk at the suggestion that they kill a live bird.
Anyway, enough rants for now. Let's try not to start a whole veggie/carnivore debate. Thanks for the response though.

There is steak in Africa but where i was staying was so remote we only got meat once a week (and then it wasn't meat you would want to eat as a steak more the sort of meat that you wanted to leave in a corner somewhere to finish dying) I've tried to make Humus before - it was awful.
I went to Scotland last week for the first proper time in my life. It was wonderful, i went to the west coast and it was all bleak and windy. Huge mountains and lovely rainstorms. I camped outside in an orange vango tent one night when it was very foggy and i could hear this foghorn blasting across the valley. Have you been to Scotland? i realised the other day that i have been virtually nowhere in Britain and so i am aiming to rectify that soon, wales and Ireland next.
