Greetings,
I see you are subbing 'Su Doku'.
Just incase you hadn't noticed, there is a second article linked to by the main article which includes the solution to the sample puzzle. If you need to change the style in the original, you may want to apply the same changes to that one..
Regards,
Jim

Hmmm, there is a slight problem with that because I do not have rights to edit that article and also it cannot be linked to your current Su Doku article, if it is not a edited Guide entry (i.e. been through Peer Review). I am trying to sort this out with the eds now.
One of the possible suggestions put forward include hosting the solution on a page outside h2g2. Do you have any way of doing this? Also, the possibility of inserting the solution in the article itself.
Will let you know what gets decided.

Hmm. Problems...
I can certainly host it externally, but I'm not sure the BBC would like to do that (and if it takes up too much space on my fairly limited (and possibly soon to move) server, it may not last).
It could be folded into the main article, possibly at the end, or even not included, and I'll post the solution into the discussion as soon as the final article is ready.
The Ed's could either change ownership, or just copy the linked-to article if the objective is to get it to a state where "J.Random User" can't edit it after it becomes an Edited Entry.
One of the wonders of Su Doku is that there is only ever one correct solution in a properly formed puzzle. The sample is such as a puzzle, so there is only one solution. Consequently, anyone who gets an answer will know that they have the correct answer. Perhaps just phrasing it that way (_and_ me posting it into a discussion afterwards so that those who just don't 'get it' will have something to look at) will suffice.

Jim

Heya...
This is where the article is now... A3865953.
I will give it another look over before I send it back but this should be it... I think.

I'm not entirely convinced by the 'Warning: This is the solution...' line. I'd have gone for 'Warning: The following is the solution to the sample puzzle. Stop reading now if you want to try and solve it yourself', or something like that.
I guess there is no easy way around the table problems that I encountered, and that TD BGCOLOR= tags are about the only way of getting thicker lines between some cells than others. If anyone is going to attack artwork on this one, they should probably look at the back cover of the T2 supplement to The Times, which has a puzzle on it, or at www.sudoku.com, which has examples. Beware, however, as you may become addicted.
I was a little disappointed with today's T2 puzzle. Fridays are meant to be 'Fiendish', and todays was only 'Difficult'. It took 15 minutes, which means that 'Difficult' was the wrong category for it. That, or I'm just getting to good at these things. Only six fiendish puzzles to go in The Times Su Doku Book 1, but there is a book 2 in the pipeline...
Regards,
Jim
