Carl maria von Weber. very unappreciated composer who write lots of nice nice dramatic expressive pieces of music for clarinet. (And some other stuff as well). He's very cool, and you know you want to pick this article or tell me nice things to add to it. *eyes go big, smiles, and nods invitingly*

It's definitely Guide bound
However, there are some minor things:
You can take out the (?) after 'organist', as Kalcher was organist to the court of Bavaria.
The 'miscarriage which exacerbated tuberculosis' sentence... I'm guessing that his wife had the miscarriage and he had TB. The sentence could be made somewhat clearer.
Some typos:
withdrawel -> withdrawal
He write several Arias -> wrote
GuideML...
You seem to have experimented with the and tags... that's not necessary, and the SubEd will take them out in the Edited version (yes there will be one ).
The bullet list works better like this:
---- start of the Unordered List
---- List Item
contents of first bullet go in here
--- End of first item
---- Next item
.......
--- End of bullet list
For list items with larger contents you could combine the with the tags, but it's a bit tricky to get the nesting right:
Item one
etc.
Just to repeat myself: great article!

Gnomon - time to move on Posted Jul 23, 2001
This is a good entry. Here are some nitpicking points:
maria --> Maria
Put a comma after Denmark as without the comma it looks like the town has moved since 1786.
You use the phrase "involvement with Vogler" twice in the one sentence. This looks ungainly. Change the second one to "this involvement".
Put Silvana and the names of other operas in italics (use and around them). If they are in italics, you don't need quotation marks around them.
You put mistakenly in quotation marks. Why? Weber hardly drank the acid deliberately, so it must have been a mistake. Get rid of the quotation marks.
persuing --> pursuing
arsenious: this is a very unusual word, listed in my dictionary as "of, relating to, or containing arsenic esp. when trivalent". What do you mean by it?
"a miscarriage exacerbated the Tuberculosis which he was eventually to die from": this sentence should be rephrased. It suggests he had a miscarriage.
"least of all Weber's relationship to Mozart's wife": this should be "not least, Weber's ..."
"Constanza (Maria Constanze Caecilia Josepha Johanna Aloisia)'s ": this would read better if you didn't bother giving all her other names.
Can you please say whose words you are quoting in the final note? Again, since it is in italics, it doesn't need quotation marks.
Good Work. I hope all the above doesn't seem too peadantic and nit-picking.

Hi, Njan!
I didn't have a chance to look at this entry in detail before. I think it has a lot of very interesting material, but I'd be inclined to make two general changes:
First, cut back a little on all the comparison with Mozart - it seems a bit repetitious to deal with this both in the introduction and at the end. Weber was important enough in his own right, and while the comparsion is interesting, it could be done in a much shorter space.
Secondly, say a little bit more about his importance in German operatic history - Der Freischutz is regarded as the first Romantic opera, and its huge success inspired a whole generation of German composers. Wagner really benefited from this, and in many ways The Flying Dutchman could be seen as following on from Weber.
I would also agree with the point that Gnomon (I think) made - it looks better to put all the titles of operas mentioned (Fidelio, Der Freischutz, Euryanthe, Oberon etc) into italics, and not use inverted commas at all.
Anyway, let us know here if you make any changes!

I have one little nitpicking point regarding
the Haydn family. You mention that Weber
studied with Haydn in Salzburg. There were
two prominent composers named Haydn during
this period. The Haydn that Weber studied
with was Johann Michael Haydn, 1737-1806.
The Haydn that Weber dedicated his 6 string
quartets to was Franz Joseph Haydn, 1732-1809.
The two men were brothers....

Sorry, even I am getting confused here.
The 6 string quartets were by Mozart, not Weber.
