*The barfridge sits cold and lonely on an empty plain. Well, not really empty... there is the APC it came here in, and there are all those people standing around who keep hauling it from adventure to adventure, and there is a menacing something approaching from just over the horizon... but other than that the plain is fairly empty. The barfridge rattles its ice cubes, but as usual no one listens. *

Time for some girl talk then, since the guys aren't here! I've just done my nails a dark bricky red, not really a summer color, but it matches my new dress that I'm wearing today for my niece's wedding. What do you think?

It must have been Shazz, as Mari is conspicuous by her absence (I do hope that she didn't chip her nail polish on the keyboard!).

She is probably going to show off by typing with her toes when she returns!

My toenails used to be pretty... now they just look a mess

Why is that then? Does TM have a toe fetish and enjoys nibbling on your toes or something?

I've got arthritis in my toes, but John does an excellent foot (and other body parts) massage! )

That is probably more information then I wanted to know Gwennie

Actually it is just that I don't seem to get around to nurturing them as I used to. For some strange reason both my finger and toenails grow long and strong in the winter and then chip, crack and go horribly soft in the summer. I haven't been able to work out why yet!

So, though I tend to prefer going barefoot all year if I can, I just never get around to painting my nails. Perhaps this addition to h2g2 has something to do with that!

That should be the other way around, Shazz. Sunlight is supposed to help your body manufacture vitamin D which in turn helps you create calcium and give you nice strong bones, teeth and...NAILS!

My nails go to pot (no pun intended) during the summer months because I have to weed (no secondary pun intended) the garden and cut the grass (no third pun intended).

Going barefoot certainly saves on the cost of footwear!

By the way, when are you becoming an "addition" to h2g2?

I know it should! That's why I'm confused! It used to be that they broke during term time with all the piano playing, and grew during the holidays! I have no idea why they have reversed their growing! Perhaps it has something to do with the change of diet here...

I have always been 'an addition' to h2g2 Gwennie... you should know that!
