This was a hard one since there were some intentional misspelling going on, but "precint"?! Am I missing something?
"Someone stole the precint toilet. The cops have nothing to go on."
I think I understand the pun; surely it's supposed to say "precinct"?

Yeah, and what's a "tounge twister" (several times)? Very effective article though. Most enjoyable.

Hm, how on earth did I miss that one? Found another, though: "labotomy".

So? does it really matter? I mean to correct the spelling, yes, but to hold up someone else's mistakes so triumphantly? Is this not a little beneath you or do you ordinarily go about correcting the grammar of others or checking their handwriting for flaws? What you thought of the article is far more worthy a topic.

Yet another nitpick:
"Humorous" not "Humourous" even though the word is "humour" in proper English as opposed to US/Canadian English.
The article was good though even though it didn't mention the king of puns: Richard Whitley (Twice Nightly Whitley).

Princesstessa, I'm pointing out errors so that the Editors can fix them. I want to help making h2g2 a nice place where everything is perfect and neat and cool.
Yes, it does matter to me. I find that spelling errors disrupt the flow of the Entry. If there is something to improve, why not improve it? I expect others to "hold up" ~my~ mistakes "triumphantly", although it can be discussed whether I've ever done that. If it seemed as if I was, I apologise.
And yes, I do go about correcting the grammar of others. I check people's handwritings for individual characteristics, there is no such thing as flaws in handwriting.
As for what I think of the Entry, I thought that the fact that I took the time to read the article word by word, checking it for spelling and grammar spoke volumes. I'm sorry that my attention to detail when it comes to Entries I really like wasn't that apparent. I'll have to tack on a "Great Entry, but" in the future.

Right, I've incorporated two changes (well spotted one and all!) - 'precinct' and 'humorous'. I think 'labotomy' is supposed to be just that - a mispronunciation (therefore, mispelling) of laboratory.
Good threadwork on a cracking entry!
Sam.

Back up to "labotomy" I think it should be "lobotomy" to tie in with the "said Tom absent mindedly" - as a lobotomy is a brain operation to relieve some cases of mental disorder - hence the absent mindedness.
Great, though I don't know which of the many of variety of puns our family is prone to.... Long journeys often developed into a kind of Ispy, but the answers all had to be connected to a central theme.

Bad grammer is a thing up with which I will not put.
For example, one should never use a preposition to end a sentence with.
Oh, nuts...

That first one is supposedly Churchill, arguing against the "no prepositions at the end of the sentence thing"
The original is along the lines of "This kind of pedantry is the sort of thing up with which I will not put."
And never start a sentence with a conjunction!
