I think you need to focus a little more on the stuff that makes the Mafia such an interesting topic for many people. I'd look at the various theories about where the word comes from, the structure and ethos of the organization and so forth, as well as the history. A glossary of mafia-speak wouldn't hurt either: cosa nostra, omerta, capo, pentito, etc
