Cable Versus ADSL BB Internet
sirloinlefroy Started conversation Aug 14, 2005
Hi everybody!
My persona here is Sirloinlefroy - in reality a hard working guy living in NE England. This h2g2 site looks pretty good with some interesting topics on it. Sooo! I thought I'd start one myself and here it is.
Which is better? ...Cable or ADSL(Telephone line) internet.
Any thoughts welcome: any internet service providers better or worse than others? This is just a bit of research really to see what reaction a random question can generate.

Ive had cable and ADSL, to tell you the truth, I prefer the cable.
All Ive based that on really is the connection methods, no dial up, always on, no capped download limits or cut off periods.
Plus being a bit of a techy geek type, since the cable modem plugged into my PC's RJ45 socket it felt like a true connection to the internet. But thats just a bit silly.
Oh yeah, it was cheaper too.

I think cable is a lot better based on the same reasons as madjimbob
but I have to have the ADSL now, I got no download limits, but it still has to dial up, and I get kicked of sometimes and can't get back on if its to busy
