Hi I'm new around here but I've been noticing how often people's names seem to relate to what they do.
I have a professor named Marks (actually Laura U Marks)
and another named Mark
film prof named McKnight
journalist prof named Barb Freeman
another one named Murdock Thompson (2 newspaper syndicate names)
They're everywhere.
Maybe a rose by any other name wouldn't smell as sweet.

I'd say the parents are completely stopping to think ... and if they stop to think about something as simple as a name for their offspring, imagine what else they stop to think about! Pretty soon, before you know it, they'll stop to think about other things, like where they've put their trousers. And that would be merely the beginning of it all! Mass hysteria!

Girl I used to go to primary school with is called Alice Mycock
There was also my manager at Sainsburys who was nee Emma Firth, then married a Dr Roides. It was classic - she even had her name badge changed....
