h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

It's stifling hot, and I have lost $2.00, bet on a tennis match between Paola Suarez and Eleni Daniidilou. They played in stifling heat and the other day a ball boy passed out, at the ASB Tennis Stadium in Parnell, Auckland. Daniidilou is going into the finals, because she won, and as Jimmy put in, youth and strength triumphed over age and experience. (Suarez is 27, so age is all relative!)
Jimmy has just got me a welcome glass of Vanilla Coke - love that stuff.
Strange days, here on h2g2, odd things have happened in the last 72 hours. Probably, I should not say any more on *that* subject!
In world affairs, a Black Hawk helicopter went down near Fallujah today, and a report by the Carnegie Endowment stated what many around the world already knew - that there is not any conneciton between Iraq and Al Quaeda, and that there are no WMD.
Many people are back at work, but not me, yet. I have time to look for a more challenging job, and I hope I find it. Meantime, I have had a look at Saturnine's blog, which is deeply interesting. And a woman died in the Marlborough Sounds last night, when a tent she was in was lifted into the air by strong winds. People died in Cyclone Heta in Niue, and stop press, a man was just found alive in the rubble at Bam in Iran afet 13 days. Yay, and Praise God!
