Hello Galaxy, those are great things to add to the list and also things another "old fogey" can appreciate!
Thank you for..

Hiya
How about:
Books - The Wizard of Oz, One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest, Catch-22, The Cider House Rules.
Music - (Whose that guy that did Minny the Moocher?), Frank Sinatra, (Elvis has already been mentioned) Jimi Hendrix, The Ramones, and even - yes, the queen of pop herself - Madonna
Movies (or should I say films?) - Anyone heard of DW Griffiths?, The Jazz singer (silent movies are all well and good, but where would the modern audience be without dialogue?), High Noon, Casablanca, It's a Wonderful Life, On the Waterfront, Bullit, Planet of the Apes (no, not the T Burton job), The Sting, Jaws,
Television - Those Flash Gordon Saturday morning serials, Rawhide, Mission Impossible, The Invaders, The Sopranos
Plenty of good stuff coming back to Britain, ASFIAC
Thank you for..

Great additions all.
Cab Calloway sang Minnie the Moocher
IRL I have the same initials as DW Griffith and have seen his "Birth of a Nation" in college.
But you didn't name Bill Waterson's Calvin and Hobbes (I assume you named yourself after Calvin's alterego Spaceman Spiff)
Thanks again!
