Traditional WItchcraft/Traditional Wicca

EEk....it is nigh impossible to have a discussion on-line about traditional Witchcraft, because the terms used are often misappropriated by other paths -nothing against the other paths but rather a plea for precise use of language
Traditional Witchcraft should apply to pre-Gardnerian pre-wiccan occult practices, and in particular those concerned with practical magic; active occult practice including divination and charms, healing and herbology; and family traditions of occultism.
Traditional Wicca refers or at least should refer, to covens or individuals practicing Gardiner's original wiccan rituals in his original structure: this has been widened to include Alexandrians, Gwyddion and others who while not Gardnerian are certainly not traditional WItchcraft either, and who are more conveniently fitted into the trad wiccan model.
If one speaks of a rede, a book of shadows, a charge of the goddess, a law of three, high priestesses and witchcraft as a religion one is discussing WICCA. None of these elements belongs in Traditional Witchcraft, and those who seek to introduce them are in fact practicing wicca, not witchcraft. And fair dues to them, if wicca is their prefered path! but if it is traditional witchcraft you are after, beware the dreaded buzzwords
Why am I wittering on here? well its my journal and i can witter if I want to even if one feels one is a lone voice howling in the wilderness....
