I'm just going to be honest and say I have only based this article on knowledge I have aquired myself. In fact I have only actually bought a guitar twice in my life (I'm only sixteen!)

If there are ANY fellow guitar-playing researchers who stumble on this entry and have had personal experiences in the field of guitar purchase, good or bad, preferably bad, please tell me your experiences here, and I'll include the information. Thanks for the help, everyone.

I've bought guitars four times, and have liked each of them. Most of all, make sure it feels good to play. Squire strats (not necessarily their copies) are great because they've got a good wide fingerboard. Good for fingering on. Also, they usually sound good. If you've got a bit more money, try an Epiphone. They've got a budget range out at the moment, whose name I've not got a bloody clue of, which sound good, look pretty good, and play like a rabbit on viagra (pretty easy then).

Don't waste money on a pedal or unecessarily expensive amp at the cost of as good a guitar as you can afford - having a good sound is one thing, but it's no use if you can't play.

hello iv just stumbled upon ur entry v good iv being playing a bit not som much these days dont get tim bad experiance...erm..
i once blew my amp lol that was strainge experiance had number of strings break over my fingers
that hurts and aint much fun especally if it ur top e lol just thought id drop u line

Thank you for Intern there for the horror stories. String whiplash? amp go boom? I'll have nightmares.
