so if you're from norway, does that mean you live on one of slartibartfast's famous fijords then?

Yes, indeed! Hard to avoid them, around here... My birthplace is somewhere quite close to Slartibartfast's signature in the glacier, or so I gather from the description in the Book!
Breathtaking mountains, soaring pinnacles, blue fjords, lots of that. And glaciers. I never got cose enough to look for Slarty's face, though...

sounds like quite a place to live! where i'm from there isn't that much snow or ice or anything.....it's just cold all the time.
sounds to me like you live somewhere quite beautiful.

I do!
Too bad that half the year it's too dark to se anything much, and for the rest it mostly rains...
(OK, a slight exaggeration, admittedly, but still...)

that's not good. i live slightly further south than you, but it still gets quite dark, wet and miserable a lot of the time. especially in winter.

I long for summer...
Summer here can be really beautiful. Sun 'till midnight. Lovely.
Do you live in Ireland?

NPY Posted Jan 24, 2005
yeah, i live in ireland.
you make me quite jealous about your summer. i was in denmark a few years ago and it was lovely. very sunny. our summer is generally just a little less wet and grey than our winter.

Well, as Norway mostly consists of west coast, we do get our share of grey and wet!
But I live just south of the Polar circle, and though we don't get proper midninght sun, it is light all "night" in midsummer. In fact it's really hard to go to bed. On the other hand, in mid-winter the only sensible thing would be to hibernate!

Yes, it can be hard. I think I would move back south again if it weren't for the fact that I enjoy my job here so much!
I think Ireland seems beautiful, too, I'd really like to go there one day. My sister has worked there, touring the whole island with a ballet company. I guess the closest I've ever been is London...
