Glad to hear you got fixed up with a job. We are working in the middle of the equatorial African rain forest at the moment, and it's 1 1/2 hours till the bar opens. Hope you enjoy your time on h2g2."

"Yes we are, and it is commonplace to see elephants, monkeys, antelope, water buffalo, gorillas, etc. crossing the dirt roads we use. I never cease to be awed by the sight. And the many shades of green of the jungle is amazing. Not ot mention the wild flowers. One of the most prolific is passion fruit outside the offices. Pretty neat. Have conveyed your greetings to Martin, he leaves today to return to Bergen. He is off to China next and is off to China in September. I'm off to the UK next week for 2 weeks and then home to Thailand for 2 weeks. Are you into classical music or do you sometimes do funky things with the cello too?"

I play classical music most of the time, like most cellists, but I have done other stuff too - which was great fun! Don't think I'll ever want to give up Bach, Beethoven and the boys, though...
