This is my first foray into informative writing. I hope you find it informative and interesting as well as a tad bit funny. If not, please tell me how I can improve my writing.

I would suggest adding a section about movie pricing. Everyone knows about matinees. In most major cities (at least in the USA), there is one theater showing recently released movies (usually at the end of their release-lives) at reduced prices. It's a great bargain. If you've been waiting to see that one flick, and the crowds have kept you away, and you can't wait for the DVD...or if you want to make out with your boyfriend/girlfriend at reduced rates in a dark theater, this is the way to go.

I've added information about the bargain cinemas, as well as various alternative methods to buying tickets. I've also made some minor stylistic changes to the formatting of the entry.

It's good and entertaining.
The only thing I would mention is the bit about pricing. Since the users of this guide are from all over the world, US pricing is unlikely to be much help to them (unless you change the title of your article to add "in the USA). I would suggest perhaps something along the lines of 'Normal showings can be up to double the price of a bargain matinee' - I think that's pretty much standard

I changed the bit about pricing; the entry should be fairly applicable to any locale now.
Anything else?

It's good - maybe a footnote to the effect that the sites you've linked to for checking times and booking are only applicable to the USA (I think they are aren't they?)

Hey Loonquawl - that was great! A perfect description of going to the cinema - it rings true here in the UK - I'm glad to see its not only us Brits who get ripped off by the snacks.
Pssst, write something - anything - on your homepage then people can come over to your space and say hello to you

I added a bit to the effect that the sites only apply in the U.S., and added a short blurb to my personal space about how to contact me.

I think this is a really good entry.
But I thought it a shame your film sites you link to only cover USA, so I found a sit that can find any cinema in UK, and take you to information on showing times, it is yell.co.uk film finder site at:

I hope you can use it, as it will give it a more trans-Atlantic appeal.
Hope this helps. Good luck.

Annoying moderator! for crying out loud it was only the yellow pages site!
Anyway, another point is probably a little silly but I think:
Candy
should be:
Candy / Sweets
As we call Candy, Sweets in the UK.

p.s. if you can find the film finder section of yell.co.uk youself, I still think it would be useful to use.

You could shorten some things at the beginning, eg, anybody should be able to ask for a ticket and exchange it for the money etc.; IMHO this is a little bit long-winded.
As to the international bit: In Germany, Mondays and/or Tuesdays (depending on where you are) are so-called 'Cinema-Days', that is, cinemas are trying to find customers by significantly reducing their prices on these days. Likewise, movies in Germany never start earlier then 30 minutes after the time announced, and the meantime is filled with a) the trailers&THX stuff you already mentioned, b) lots of ads, and c) even more ads, this time in form of a dia-show, showing the interia of the pizzeria next door and the car-dealer round the corner.
When taking your seat, try not to step on people's feet, and when seated, keep your feet out of harm's way if others are passing!
Well done!
Congratulations!
