I do have a question about the "talk" feature. Maybe I'm just not using right. Does it work like real-time talk or is it something else? Also, if you see that there's someone on the site that you'd like to talk to, is there any way of getting their attention?

When you use the talk button it takes you to a page with suggestions of places where you might like to go and talk. If you want to talk to someone online then you can post to their user page. If you've seen someone in a conversation then click on their name and it takes you to their page. Scroll down to the bottom, and you'll find a button saying "discuss this entry". Click that and you can say whatever you want.
