Factory work, beading windows. Crap hours, crap pay, hot and sweaty work.
Interview for KFCjob tomorrow though, hope I get that job so I can ditch this one, and hopefully the hours won't be 2pm-10pm. I want early hours so I can have afternoon/evening as me time/.
Oh well. Such is life.
On the more positive side had some fun times chatting with the guys at latex101 and got a sneak peek at some of their new stuff, which looks awesome. Maybe one day I can afford it, Christmas present maybe :P

It could be worse, you could be 2legs assistant, feeding his smiley addiction (amongst others)
Good luck with your interview

Ah chicken land. My S worked there for a couple of years. You get a tad sick of fried chicken after a while. Milkybar crushems are really rather tasty though. Be honest and enthusiastic in the interview and you should be fine.

It's a lot better now actually, quite like it but the hours are still awful for me (hate afternoon/evening work). But people are cool and I'm getting to do a bunch of different stuff.
KFC didn't want me. Job in Northumberland (Alnwick) that I want, pays up to 20k, hopefully closer to 20k than not :P
Don't you worry about that latex 2legs, I'm saving up money for that catsuit I want :P

Great to hear, just have to keep avoiding the voices about student debt in my head. Getting a job in Leeds as a student is extremely tricky without prior experience, so I shall just suffer the consequences
And yes, up to is always that dangerous qualifier!

I'm not even thinking about student debt yet...
This job is agency contract, but it's also in another town so hardly ideal. Oh well, it pays money and hopefully it will let me get the job in Northumberland. Might do more job hunting today, see what's around and workable.

Student debt, reason number 472 to be Scottish. No tuition fees! Still have my student loan to pay back but as I've next to no chance of ever getting a job, never mind one that pays over 15k, I'm not too worried!

Well that's another job applied for, we'll see what comes of it! Warehouse Assistant with a company nearer to me than my current one.

TRiG (Ireland) A dog, so bade in office Posted Sep 20, 2014
My work life has been odd.
I catalogued a school library. I worked self-employed as a window cleaner. And then I drifted into the job I still have, building websites. I suspect that in the current economy, very few people my age have had as few jobs.
There was also the four days in a dairy quality control lab.*
TRiG.
* It was a six-month contract to cover maternity leave. Two days after I started (and before the person I was covering had actually left), they found they were laying off people in another part of the company, so they dropped me and transferred one of them instead. If that hadn't happened, my subsequent work life might have been very very different. I quite liked that lab. They used the samples in their tea.
