In order further aid the resaerch on this topic, I have found that a Spanish rolling paper brand, Smoking, are excellent. They come in several varieties most notably the red and blue packs (I think the blue are thinner). The papers differ from British brands by folding in half along the vertical axis, rather than the run of the mill horizontal fold, as seen on rizlas (Of interest this may also aid gum location in low light). Smoking are also slightly larger than rizla allowing for a "wider load".
