I've just seen a couple of articles with pictures in them. Is it possible to do this to user
pages or were those special articles done by the web master or one of his/her minions

Well it is possible to put in pictures and it's fairly easy. All you do is in the edit page box you type in the location and other details about the picture in HTML.

You can't use HTML in Forums. And speaking of which, how do you make images in forums?

There's a simple answer to this. You can't. The only images available in forums are the smileys put on here by the H2G2 team.
