Apparently, Rhododendron praecox has come into bloom in Huddersfield this week. I know it's the earliest one but 2nd week in Feb is a bit much.

I say 'apparently' as I've been out of Europe since middle of november, and have to rely on the wife's bi-weekly reports of goings on in the shrubbery.

Have you had a winter over there smiley - huh

It's been very wet and windy for the last couple of weeks but apart from a couple of nasty weeks around the Christmas period it hasn't really been cold.
I was pretty shocked at seeing snowdrops in January and flowers on the mahonia last week smiley - yikes

Hope you're somewhere warm and comfortable.

(Psst...Are you sure your wife is reporting ALL the goings on in the shrubbery?)smiley - devil

(If oi asks no questions, oi be told no lies smiley - winkeye)

I'm hopping around the coastal strip of West Africa just now - mainly Niger Delta around Warri and Eket. It's known locally as the swamp. Hot and sticky rather than warm and comfortable. And up to 150" of rain during the wet. Good for the bananas and watermelons, though smiley - smiley
