... just to see how things were ticking over.
Looked on the who's online list and realised I was at the top
Think I'll disappear back into the ether!
For anyone interested I'm writing up my PhD and working as a researcher, still doing sign language recognition

What's worrying is that this is my second account, my first one is 37something, can't remember the login details though so it will be lost in the change over

I just had a look at Who is Online, and it's kind of nice that the top bunch of people are mostly familiar.

I'm guessing a few of the 'older' researchers who've not been around actually on site in a while, have been getting Emails from researchers who're still on site and heard about the changes, and have contact details....
I looked through my 'friends' list last night, and a lot* of them will be lost in teh change, many I just don't have any Email or other method to contact Guess they just drifted off at some point and I failed to notice

hmmm, fewer and fewer friendly faces online here, but then it has been a while!
Yep, sign language, http://personal.ee.surrey.ac.uk/Personal/H.Cooper/ if you're interested.

Hey! just cause we've all gone old and haggered, and our faces arn't as smooth as they were a decade or so ago, doesn't mean we're any less friendly!
Actually, have you heard the news?: the BBC is getting rid of h2g2, but a group of people from h2g2 has put in a bid, and is hopin gto take over runnign the site... and some of us 'old timers' are still about, though maybe not online as much as some of us once were... real life keeps turnign its reality face apon some of us and removeing us from the safety of the interwebs! Glad to see your still about though, if a little*infrequent a visitor

It was more that many of my old friends have done like I have and gone back to real life. While the new faces are friendly enough they're not quite the same... yet
I had caught a passing thread and discovered h2g2c2, interesting idea and I wish you all well with it, maybe if I stick around a bit more I'll hop on board but right now I'm going to dangle my feet in the water and admire the view.
