I've been there and can testify that you can coast downhill entirely to Horncastle on a bike, 2.5 miles. It's not so boring, there's a telephone box and a garage and I did see a man in a tractor.
I also have been in the Angel Inn, Horncastle, once!
Lincolnshire's beauty lies mainly in the skies (Wolds excepted) which you can observe quite easily by laying down on your back and looking straight ahead.
And why isn't Mareham le fen or Revesby in your Liff - isms, Lincolnshire based ?
