This entry is excellent. I read my girlfriend in almost every line.
For example, every time I park the car, I get out and she is standing there frowning. I ask what's wrong and I'm told the car could be nearer the kerb or closer to the car in front so I don't take up two parking spaces. This sounds petty, but I feel got at and under scrutiny, it's difficult to relax, drop your guard.
Any hint of cricism of her, however and she is devastated.
The question is, how do I deal with it, live with it? I don't want to
throw the baby out with the bathwater because so many other things about her are so attractive.
Throwing the cars keys at her and telling her to park it, doesn't seem all that constructive.
