Handheld guide?

Hello, and again welcome to H2G2! I noticed you have a handspring, and wanted to get the guide on it. I have a Palm V, and I use Avantgo to check my H2G2 web page. What it does is follow specified web sites and channels (of your choosing)when you sync. While it can eat up memory, you can also set limits on the max # of channels (in this case, replies). It also doesn't require any kind of connection, other than your home computer and the sync cradle, so there's no need to connect palm, handspring to cell phone, or other expensive hardware. I also use this software to follow cnn on my palm. I too would love to be able to access the whole guide from my pda, and if I find anything else, I'll let you know

I do use AvantGo on my Visor. I was talking about the whole guide, knowing that that is impossible - it was sort-of tongue-in-cheek. =)
But you brought up an interesting point: Checking my space for conversation updates. I never thought of that. One thing - how does AvantGo get past the login/cookie issue?
Thanks for your response.

Well, on my computer, I have it set so whenever I've got H2G2 pages active, I'm logged in. So when I set the page on Avantgo(the url for my H2G2 homepage)there's no need for passwords, both my palm and H2G2 know it's me. And actually, with a modem, or cell phone, you would be able to get the whole guide on a pda, but it would still be really expensive. I have an omnisky modem, but my fiancee cancelled service because it was too expensive for such a limited piece of hardware. The only problem with using avantgo to check postings updates, is that you can see when the last one was, but you can't usaully acess that posting(latest) as avantgo won't make those channels priority, maybe there's something i can figure out to fix that little prob, too. Not sure yet, but I'll keep you posted!
