You think it's EASY to get short stories into Woman's Own???? I spent years trying and got nowhere - and I actually am a published author!!

I didn't mean to imply getting stories into Woman's Own (or similar magazines) was easy, I am as aware as any wannabe writer that getting something published anywhere is almost impossible.
It's just I don't happen to think the stories in Women's magazines are... well... any good.
I've read a few in my time (ahem) and they all seem to be along the lines of awww don't kids say the darndest things, or wives having affairs to get away from their boring insensitive husbands, or their boring insensitive husbands going and having affairs.
There are only so many feisty, intelligent powerful women and boring, insensitive, useless men that I can take. Men have brains as well you know! And some of us even have feelings too!
Anyway, barring my rant against what is very probably the genre you hold dear, I'm very sorry if you misunderstood my comment on Women's Own writers and I hope this clarifies things... if not actually improving them...

Hi Maggy,
A few years ago I received my first rejection slip from a publisher in Holland and that makes me internationally unknown, so there!
May the Great Quill be with you.
