The innocuous term of abuse 'berk' is not so innocent

I think that the origins for this is "Berkshire Hunt", I could be wrong and as such a complete Berk.

Not sure that all the above are original, but I guess the language should evolve.

You should always be careful when using it in front of the saucepans. Rather than Tom Tit its much preferable to call it a Danny (LaRue)

My father always used to call it a "number 2", when we were little. That slang seems to have lead to some poeople talking about "number 1"s (which doesn't rhyme so well). By the way, he used to refer to us as "saucepan-lids", not dustbin-lids. Perhaps both were used; there is no way to be certain.
