Crazy Little Thing Called h2g2

I've been here for over a week and visited some great sites, communicated with nice people, had a really good time doing all this, but my phone bill is here and unless I can change to a better tarriff, I am going to have to spend a lot less time here.
BUT I had been thnking, with watching the "who's online" section, and the way it takes time for anyone to even see that you have arrived, that maybe I have been online too much in comparison to other researchers, maybe I should restrict myself to something manageable, like 1 hour a week.
Anyway, just thought that I would make a note of that, I have a phone bill here that would make history.
Memo: check alternative charging regimes on the phone line...
bye...

Salamander the Mugwump

You seem to have a complicated online experience going on here. I don't know if this might help you as I'm not sure what the deal is with OnDigital. I also spend more time on line than would seem healthy for a nice fat bank balance but I've changed over to BT Anytime. That gives you limitless access for £15 per month so you know exactly how much you're paying however much time you waste here and elsewhere on the web.

Hello sal.
Thanks for that, That was more of an internal memo than a discussion point, so it was good of you to jump in.
The problems with the OnDigital system are elsewhere in my homepage, basically the thing itself is ok, Obviously I have OnDigital anyway, and for another £5 a month I have full internet access (nearly).
The alternative of course is to go for the computer system setup, and that is just out of the equation at present.
I tried to switch to BT's "Surf Together" package before this arrived, but couldn't get it, they were talking about CD's etc.
It's my fault for not pursuing it, I've been online about 10 days and my phone bill has doubled.
It's my fault anyway, I don't think other researchers spend so much time in here, and I havn't really got anywhere with this yet, it's just so big.
I will try to get the bt bit sorted out. thanks for your input, I am going to bed as its after 2 am, I'm up again at 7.
Hope this makes sense tomorrow.
Hope also to communicate on happier subjects soon .

bye.....
