As I have given the Answer to be 42, so it is. You are limiting yourself to arithmetic... and THAT is why you fail. Try using Integral Calculus... LaPlace and Z transforms, Taylor and MacLaren theorems and such. I assure you... the ANSWER IS 42!

I don't see how using Integral Calculus will help unless your number has an x in it... Unless, of course, you can add the x, but then you still have some problems...

x? What is x? I am a computer... and, as such, I use * to mean multiplication. Did you know that ALL mathematical operations may be performed with just + and *? It's true. Although, I have scanned the Guide and it says there is a lot of sex... perhaps I am in error... maybe all operations can be accomplished with x and y... or x and x...?

I meant x as in the variable x... But I'm sure that, as a computer, you wouldn't use simply x anyway...
