2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side...

something not very clear smiley - ermsmiley - silly

OK, so perhaps as much as a week ago, we got a letter through, the post, reportidly from "The UK government" - odd, there is no such thing as "UK government" - . - . I assume they ment to say "her majisty's government" smiley - shrug
In which letter, seemingly from BoJo himself, it said … …
" if you have not yet received a letter to say you need to self-isolate for 12 weeks due to a medical condition, then you do not need too...."

Then, err... yesterday or the day before, I gets a TXT..... - saying I'm in an medically at risk group and, need to isolate for 12 weeks.

Given the obvious both these can't be correct. and given the 12 week self isolation seems quite random; some people started a 12 week isolation what, two or three weeks ago? smiley - erm I think I'll ignore that TXT, afterall it could be spam anyhow, and I've received nothing through my official NHS/hospital account/app, now from the official NHS/GP-surgery app/website. smiley - shrug

In otter news; went to supermarket yesterday, to get stuff in before the bonk holiday weekend.
smiley - wow
They can keep the supermarkets like this, post-C-19 - we had to queue, for a short period, and then, once in the shop; so loverly and not crowded, and no one pushing us out of the way, or forcing trolleys into us, so they could reach over to grab things, far more civilised than 'normal' smiley - cool got everything we wanted smiley - zen

Laundry day today, and a gov sanctioned 1 hour walk later.

I'm so aching now, with no gym, and my shoes are getting tighter and tighter, due to the fluid retention from not exercising smiley - wah an hours walk just doesn't come close to what I normally do each day at the gym smiley - wah got 2 hours sleep last night, I think my sleeps really down the pan now, likewise, no exercise smiley - groan

Lentils with chicken sausages for lunch, probably fish again for dinner smiley - zensmiley - hotdogsmiley - burger

Well said indeed...

I received a letter from 10 Downing Street signed by BoJo, so that was OK, except it just reiterated the not very clear instructions I've been trying to get my head around for weeks smiley - headhurts Does sound like the TXT might be spam, as the 'severely vulnerable' people I know received their letters about 3 weeks ago... Look after yourself, anyway.

" a gov sanctioned 1 hour walk later. " - I've seen a few people mentioning 1 hour of exercise per day, but the letter says 'one form of exercise per day' and Michael Gove said a couple of weeks ago that the most important thing was to go out only once and come back in only once, so if you normally do a 25 mile walk, you could still do that as long as you kept away from other people smiley - huh 'One form of exercise' makes it sound like you're breaking the law if you go for a run and then walk back smiley - silly so I don't find the instructions clear, but I am pretty much able to do what I normally do, so that's OK. I hope you've reduced your steroid dose to compensate for the reduced exercise amount you're doing smiley - hug

I had a mixed time at the supermarket - the queue outside was fine, but then in the store people were still reaching over me to grab things, so it was all too close for comfort... The shelves were pretty much well stocked, though, apart from pasta, so I was OK (I still have a couple of weeks' pasta supply at home, as long as I'm careful with it...) smiley - tea

As the steroid dose... - I have never increased it for exercise, although from talking to others with adrenal insufficiency, I'm very unuseual in this... - as it stands I take 3 MG prednisolone a day; the minamum dose for adrenal insluffeciency is apparently 5 MG or 4 MG smiley - erm (and I was told when I was on 4 MG that I must not reduce it further...) - obviously I did, but, the peer reviewed publications on steroids for adrenal insufficiency, all* say ' lowest possible dose that does not produce symptoms' so 3 MG seems fine for me in that regard; 5 MG and above is considered sufficient a dose to cause immune suppression, so I'm well below that... - sure, in me, 0 MG a day produces no symptoms, but... well my blood results all say I need the stuff... smiley - ermsmiley - shrug - too low a dose would make me have a very bad response to any infection, as it is when I've concurrent illness/infection I have to take more, to reproduce the bodies normal response of kicking up production to multiple hundreds of MG cortisol smiley - huh (1 MG prednisolone is probably 4 or 5 MG hydrocortisone, which vaguely corolates with cortisol somehow) smiley - erm tis all a bit vague really.

smiley - drumroll

it gets butter;

today in post smiley - drumroll my letter saying I should* self-isolate. =- apparently I must use a different bathroom to William - err, we only have one bathroom smiley - laugh and I should eat my meals 'in the backroom' err, there is no backroom... unless I walk out into the street, of course smiley - laugh

The letter also says 'you have to stay indoors to reduce face-to-face interactions' - err, but I'm having no face-to-face interactions when I go out anyhow smiley - ermsmiley - shrug the letter is advisory, so I'll ignore it, its just unpracticle, and 12 weeks of no air, I'd end up so ill, - now the sun is out and the weather is getting warm, I'm constantly overheating indoors, due to my temperature dysregulation smiley - puff and getting headachy so much because of that smiley - puffsmiley - shrug

with the sun out outdoors, about an hours walk is enough for me, I start feeling so ill when my body overheats, and I can't regulate my own body temp anymore smiley - wah walking just isn't intense enough an exercise for what I'm used to now, - I was averaging two and a half hours a week, intervals on the elyptical before 'lock-down', and I do intervils with added bits; I do calf raises and leg kicks whilst peddling the elyptical, and do those peddling forwards, as well as backwards smiley - puff honest... its fun smiley - laughsmiley - silly - I've been working for ages, to try do body weight squats on the elyptical, but haven't yet managed to be able to coordinate it smiley - doh

Just prepared the veg for lunch.... doing a lentil soup type thing, with spicey chicken sausages, green lentils, red pepper, onion, ginger, garlic, and mushrooms smiley - drool getting into salad weather now, but without daily shopping we've no space to store salad things for any period of time smiley - doh

Are any of the trainers from your gym "teleworking"? Maybe they're doing sessions online. I've heard some are doing that over here and also some folks are watching YouTube training videos with lots of squats, lunges, etc. that you don't need special equipment for.

I've been trying to do at least a 20-30 minute bicycle ride each day. It's not nearly enough, of course, but it's something. I may also add several trips up and down my stairs and just maybe... maybe some actual exercises like the aforementioned squats and lunges... maybe.

Yeh… its just motivation, and space, stopping doing those kinds of things at home.... I've a few routeens I do fairly often at the gym, pyramids and reverse pyramids, with body weight squats, press-ups, squat thrusts, mountain climbers, plio planks, etc, but we're somewhat limited for space, and its just so warm in the house smiley - puff - plus we do have an exercise ball, a 20 KG barbell, and exercise bands... - if we had the energy also, we have had the offer of popping to the gym, with the manager, and 'borrowing' any small bits of equipment we want, kettle bells, dumbbells etc (sadly I doubt we could borrow the elyptical) smiley - laugh - I've been doing my single leg squats every day; I do these now every time I take trousers off and put them on... plus I always run up the staircase, each time I go upstairs, so that must be helping smiley - weird I should try motivate myself to do something with the barbell really but it is a little dangerous, throwing it about in the front room - plus I have to watch out for the light fitting if I raise it above my head smiley - doh

Yeah... I think that's why people are liking the virtual training sessions so their trainers can give them that motivation by yelling at them through their computers and smart phones. smiley - laugh

Yes, I've seen our gym is running those, for people who attend the classes at the gym, like zoomba and other various things... I still recall a lot of the circuit training/boot camp stuff I've done, a lot of which is just body weight exercises smiley - puff I just need to muster up some energy and entheuiasm to do them smiley - sleepy
