err. OK.
All the official 'stuff' regarding steroids (glucocortocoids, not androgens/), says, don't take near sleep, as they can mess with sleep.
My Drs/consultants, only know a few things they've read from books, so 'know' this.
Apart... from, if one is taking steroids, not for their anti-inflammatory effect (various autoimmune conditions, organ-transplantation rejection medication, COPD, etc., etc.,) but, instead, taking them as hormonal replacement, for abscent cortisol production.
In which case, the normal biochemistry, with normal production of the hormone, is that the hormone levels start rising about 2 - 3 AM.
In which case, sleep can be negatively affected, by having low levels of the hormone, overnight.
Symptoms of low cortisol overnight, might include... symptoms of hypoglycaemia.
such... as... I dunno... internal tremmors.
So. tis nice that the consultant at the hospital, refused, point blank, to consider my internal tremmors/palpitations were anything hormone related.
Took 1 MG prednisolone last night, just immediately before bed.
Slept better than I have since 20014. didn't wake at 2 - 3 AM. and, hardly any tremmors
True enough; that is just one night, thus far, but, I'd not slept at all for the three nights before, and tremmors had been very bad over those nights (no one at the hospital has as yet done any investigation into the tremmors)
I'll try the 1 MG again tonight, and for a few more nights; if that's not entirely removed the tremmors at night, I'll experiment with 2 MG at night, and remove 1 MG from my morning dose; which, inf fact, would set my morning dose to 2 MG; which equates to 10 MG hydrocortisone; 10 MG hydrocortisone is the typical morning dose of Hydrocortisone when on hormonal replacement, for all forms of cortisol deficiency.
I give up on the endocrine Drs.
Went to gym today, after the big two hour long session yesterday we weren't expecting (our clients didn't turn up), so today, was with our PT, (our glorious leader) we did;
stair treadmill, forwards, but on tip-toes, and with tip-toe calf raises on each step.
elyptical cross trainer, intervals, and increasing resistance, up to level 16 - 17
regular running treadmill; backwards, sideways, and for a change, some going forwards; all with incline set quite steep.
That was mixed in with medicine ball throwing, catching, bouncing, and sit-ups whilst holding the 10 KG medicine ball...
Ended with some weights; bench press (machine), and some weird chest/shoulder/back things, using the cable pull machine
Two cups of tea later, our client arrived, so we worked her for nearly an hour (she tired quite quickly), sadly she's still got a few injurys, so wasn't able to do the full range she normally does; did stretching and muscle work, on arms and legs, from the wheelchair, and some boxing with the punch bag, then some cable pull work (lat pull-downs), row, etc
knackered.
had gherkins and tuna sandwichs fo lunch. well, the gherkins were not in the sandwichs, but...
home-made potato wedges for dinner, with cod, and baked beans... an apple and a nana for fruit (fruit is so boring this time of year )
did a couple sets of situps at home, and another few sets of squats, single leg and ordinary in the late afternoon
Spoke to Brother on phone
showered... and still knackered
no gym tomorrow, and probably none Thursday either, will go Friday and sunday, Thursday is a possibility, depends on deliverys as we're expecting some stuff to arrive, by the end of the week (mainly some food stuff, and some vitamins etc).
frozen food grocery delivery tomorrow
