Yeah, I've enough normal weight gain factors going on that I didn't even consider thyroid until the smiley - doctor made a point of adding TSH and Reflex Free T4 (I found the paper while looking for something else smiley - winkeye). I'm fairly sedentary, had been eating way too much, not sleeping enough, had high stress levels while the main teacher was out for a month after adopting her infant nephew (so a great reason to be gone, but that didn't help with stress levels!), and not drinking enough water. The only symptoms that made me think that I might be hypothyroid and not just heavy were depression (I'm not really depressed, just a bit blah, when I'm not bouncing around 'cause of the trip) and lack of libido.

Oh yes.... as with so many things, so many of the symptoms can be rather vague, and so not very specific, but rather decent your Dr didd the test, to rule it out smiley - zen - I randomly found a TsH and T4 test, from back before I was ill, which I didn't even know my family/GP Dr had done; which is kinda useful now, as I know what my levels were, before the pitutiary went completely up the river, and threw them into actual well below normal range, levels smiley - zen mind, my levels then were not particularly high, but that is I guess what my 'normal' was smiley - zensmiley - weird
