"Fat Club", is seemingly the favoured term for what I'm going to on Monday at teh hosptal.... According to my Brother anyhow, who goes to his own Fat club, as part of the gym he's at... Mind, he's not got any medical condition to blame for his weight, just his appertite for living off takeaway food
I'll almost certainly be one of the thinnest people there, I've gained a lot in a couple of years, but I was at my thinnest ever since err... I was about 12 years old, I think, just before the weight started going on.... 3 stone ( 42 Lb) in one year (hydrocortisone), and then about another stone and a bit, last year and into this thus far, on the prednisolone.... so I've gained about 60 Lb in total now.
or have I?
seems weight is going the way of the 'inch' as used in clothes measurements...
differnt scales in the hospital weight me at differnt weights, and the Boots pharmacy don't seem to aree with the hospital scales, and they don't seem any to agree with my home digital scales, that have, previously, always talleyed with Boots scales so, I'm either, 16 stone 2 -16 stone 3 Lb (home scales) or 16 stone 7 - 16 stone 9 Lb (hospital and boots scales) fat anyhow and often panfully so as the weight is all around my middle due to the weird fat distrubution that the steroids cause; for example, with my jeans I bought recently on, and belted, I can take them down without even loostening the bel....
weird fat deposits on the back and back of my neck too, which are oddly supposidly only associated with over treatment with the steorids, yet I'm on tiny dose now
I only really signed up to the weight thing at the hospital, as it seems to be the only way I can get to speak to a dietition/nutritionalist; around a quater of people on long term steorids develop diabetes, and I don't want too, and Drs in endocrinology won't talk about it, or how to reduce, as, like ostioporosis no one gets it, as the Drs don't put people on too higha a dose of steroids... well, I've already got the ostioporosis, which the literature leads me to see is considered the most dangerous steorid side effect
shiney. new shiney! Victorian, gold, matching necklace and bracelet not shiney shiney gold of course, as its of some age, so it doesn't exactly sparkle like something new would, but its really nice.... sort of 'rope' effect linked chain on the necklace and same on the bracelet both with lobster clasps type things
found them in the antique shop near here, from wher W got me my pearls for my birthday - the new ones are a late Christmas present as I couldn't think nor find anything at Christmas
just woke from the second nap of the day - seems I can nap/sleep better during the day than night...
first nap was early morning, just... because it was so horrible looking outside, so went for a nap after I'd had drugs and breakfast and tea, and coffee, and after W's daughter had popped round on her way into town, and borrowed our parking permit
second nap was, about 4 or 5 I think, and just woke from it
must think about getting some dinner on soon.... either salmon or tuna with rice, green veg, or maybe a mushroom risotto, or... hmm... one of them I think....
