yes. seriously.
got a phone call this morning. and now, I've an appointment in the maternity hospital. I really dont' think I'm pregnant, there would be at least a couple of obsticles in the way of this being the case - I guess they sometimes use rooms in the maternity wing of the hospital for other specialisms
Also got a random app through to see a cardiology consultant. - so I guess the cardiac scan shows I've got heart disease now too, from the meds. great. - never got the results from that scan back myself though, so shall question this tomorrow, when in endocrinology.
went to pharmacy today, one of the items I requested, I have on script; "emergency sudu cortif injection kit" (err, sodium sotrinate or somethign I think its called, basically injectible cortisol).
got the meds home, the bag also had prednisolone, the proton pump inhibitor, and the melatonin in I ordered, and;
a box, containing two little bottles of the injectible HC powder. - no needles. no suringe, no pure/clean water which you have to mix the powder with, basically, entirely ing useless.
how. can. anyone, be that stupid? emergency injection kit, with no way to inject it - luckily the one I still have, is in date, and does have the needles, not that anyone has ever shown me how to use it; they are scared of a blind person self injecting, so, rather than teach me how to do it, I'll just have to ugess, how to do it, at the moment I'm drifting into a coma and losing consciousness. - logic where for art thou. I can't quite decide if I should talk to my endocrinologist tomorrow, or just sit there making gentle dove cooing noises, until they take me away. I cannot cope with this illogical behavior, its just, utterly unfathonable.

I had to laugh at this bit, "...not that anyone has ever shown me how to use it; they are scared of a blind person self injecting..." because I know my mum closes her eyes when she self injects!
She has something at a palliative dose to do twice a day for 10 days, every six weeks and the hospital is quite impressed that at 81 she does this herself, she was carefully shown how to do it though.
Given that no one her age gets this far after an AML diagnosis (currently 3 years and 4 months after being given 3-6 months to live) she's an important case study and they tend to hang off her every word. The consultants appointment room gets pretty full up with students and researchers. Last time she told him she'd found a new way to make self injections easier. Everyone sat up to pay attention, pens were poised to write down the words of wisdom. She then started talking about something else and the consultant nearly burst with curiosity, prompting her to tell him exactly what made the injections easier...
"Oh" she said "I just put the telly on while I do it, and that distracts me!"
Anyone passing the room might have wondered at the laughter coming from what is, after all, a pretty grim appointment, but it was a funny moment.
So tell them it makes no difference, you wouldn't have been looking anyway!

exactly!; I don't honestly know why they think I cna't do it; I inject myself every night with growth hormone, subcutainious, and the emergency cortisole/hydrocortisone injection is only intramuscular so its not like I've got to find a vein or anything; and, in an emergency I can die in a couple hours without the injection, if I'm going into crisis; additionally; I have absolutely no issue with injections whatsoever; somewhat odd to say, as I always used to have such a needle phobia, but now I just don't care at all; heck, during my chemo one time, I let a junior Dr/nurse practise injecting my portacath; I explained to them, as they'd not ever used one before, they really oughta practise on me, rather than a patient who doesn't like/hates needles
also, William absolutely hates needles, can't look when he has blood taken himself, or an injection, and has to turn away even when I do my subcutainious GH injection each night (OK so in reality I turn away so he doesn't ahve to look ) - so in all likelyhood, if I did need the emergency injection W would load the suringe, and I'd end up self-injecting anyhow - just a pity they do not make a ready made up injection pen of the emergency cortisol/hydrocortisone - I guess its just not going to make anyone enough money to develop such a thing
