It lives! the chinchilla lives!
I put new batterys into it
All the way through my chemo, I kept saying the chinchilla was copying my 'life blood', it was getting slower and slower,a dn almost dead.... (slightly morbid sense of humor? me? nah...)
Anyhow, it lived, right about until the end of chemo, then just about managed to live through my radiotherapy too!
then. the chinchilla died I feared this ment I had died too, as my life-blood was being channeled through my dancing, singing chinchilla.
I just put new batterys into the chinchilla, and. she's alive again and dancing and singing!
New leggings arrived today
one in baige, one pair in black.
Am wearing one pair, with my purple dress Gona go to hospital tomorrow, to visit vascular access, in my dress and leggings actually.... wearing a dress makes so much more sense, it'll be even easier for them to access my port to flush it
food porn, as requested.
Chili waws great last night. really came out well again, if not even better, as I added more chili peppers to it and more onion, and more mushrooms...
Have chili again tonight, and hoping there is enough left for two more portions; which will be dinner for W and I tomorrow.
but.... eggs again!
Duck eggs again.
Scrambled
in a slightly differnt way.
Now, the key with duck eggs, and scrambling them, is to get the texture right... they are more viscus and higher protein content than hen eggs, but I find, just adding some water, and perhaps a little more butter than one would normally use, works a treat.
Today, though. for a change...
I put the little bit of water into the small saucepan (OK its the milk pan from a saucepan set actually, which is just the right size).
round in some salt, and pepper, and put in four or five largeish knobs of butter.
I heated that, very gently, to melt the butter, then mixed it through...
Waited for it to cool a little (I'd not boiled it), then added two duck eggs, tring to not break the yolk.
Then back onto a very low heat.
very very low... letting it cook a few minutes, before breaking the yolk, and then continued cooking, until scrambled egg perfection was reached; about 7 minutes on a very very very low heat...
had that on baguette, for brunch/lunch/breakfast (half way between first dose of hydrocortisone and the antibiotic at 11 AM).
Oh, was up late today. didn't sleep... well, I did eventually sleep, but having gone up to bed a bit after 2, I didn't fall asleep until well after the rush hour traffic so maybe got two hours, again
all drugs for the day taken, cept for the final antibiotic (11 PM), and the circadin/melatonin (between about 11 and 12 useually, nearer midnight)

That's interesting about the texture of duck eggs compared to hen eggs. I'm partial to Quail eggs these days, and usually boil them until they're just about hard boiled, but one broke and poached itself, and the texture was not right so it lost all its flavour, but viscosity is the difference indeed
Yay for the chinchilla

I find duck eggs a bit too rich for my taste. Mind you, my mum's throat gets itchy and "thick" if she eats eggs (which she does, a lot) and I think I've inherited that allergy in a minute amount as my throat feels coated if I eat a really rich egg. Duck eggs definitely do that.
Mmm ham & cheese omelette
