T.B. Falsename ACE: [stercus venio] I have learned from my mistakes, and feel I could repeat them exactly.

Hi, I've recently-ish started writing fountain pen reviews for putting on the Fountain Pen Network site. I've done two so far, one for a top of the range Parker, albeit one from 1954 and one for a cheap Chinese pen. I'm hoping to start a diploma in Journalism soon and I plan on using these reviews as part of my portfolio afterwards.

Anyway if anyone's interested the reviews can be found at

Parker 50s Duofold.

I have never heard of that site, but question why you are doing a diploma rather than an nctj?

Have to say, it would never occur to me to find a review of a pen. Films, books, etc, yes, but a pen??

Ah, but many pens are awful to write with. They may be uncomfortable to use for more than a few words, or they may skip, that is they may not put down ink smoothly, leaving blank bits you have to go over, they may be scratchy or they may be brittle/fragile.

This is primarily aimed at people who like using pens.

Oh and regards NCTJ accreditation, it's simply that I can't afford to do one of their courses. Maybe if I do the diploma, which will be paid for for me, and manage to get a job then I'll look at doing a NCTJ course to back it up.

Oh yeah, lotrs of employers seem to do that sort of thing now where they'll put you through a course. Though you probably hasve to work for them for a given time before or after it to qualify to do it.
