Hmm, were without telephone for nearly a week now. We wanted to change telephone and internet to Scarlet from 1 august on. Last week there came a guy who was ordered by Scarlet to make the required adjustments in the computer.
But something went wrong at the KPN. We got a phonecall from the KPN asking if it was the right number and the right name. When we said it was, the guy was very surprised and said something was wrong in the centrale.
Right, then the telephone switched itself off and we tried to contact both KPN and Scarlet, by means of the telephone of a friend, but we cannot get through. E-mails are not answered.

VV , I've ordered several things from the UK, and it took them no longer to arrive here than things I order within the country.

to paint pricture
...once I ordered a FrogPad in Houston, Taxas, USA it takes 5 days
...once I ordered a new mobile phone within the Netherlands it takes 14 days *
* if goes correctly
that kpn / scarlet is part of the "onderbroeken lol" service. *
* translated: "underpants fun". explaination: bad humor.
I am trying switch too from kpn to @home telefonie (telephony), but it can only do that with a special website, which is not working due to technical error. (I tried regular in last last 4 weeks).

Bliksem, what's happening? We've got all these new communication technology at our disposal, and it seems that it's getting more difficult to communicate and everything goes wrong.
Now, if I could teleport myself to both the managers responsible for the service delivered by Scarlet and KPN I could tell them something. Or do you think I should go straight to the presidents of the board of directors and deliver my complaints there? I hope I will not need a telephone connection for teleporting myself as well?
I suppose I'm a bit in a pickle here. Never mind.
I do not know the book, BElena. What's it about?

Krabat, looking at the title I posted, I'm not surprised you don't recognize the book
I don't know it either, it's obviously about some people living in a village in the heath, a loves b, b loves c, c loves a or so, I'm not yet sure. It's on you can listen to the first part here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4 go to Listen again, Sunday classical

A3383796 Yes, the Return of the Native by Thomas Hardy. There's an edited entry about it on h2g2. I found it just after I asked you the question. I can't say I've ever read anything of him.
I reread Wuthering Heights a couple of months ago, and still fail to see the charm of the story. I like the structure, how it is told by the housekeeper to the man that rents the house. But the story she tells I find utterly
