Patting your jeans pocket to check your keys are there *after* you've slammed the front door shut
I had to go over the garden wall from four houses down to get into my own back yard. Still, it's nice to meet the neighbours. This lot have only just moved in in the last week or so, and I'd not stopped to say hello yet.

Very obliging of them to let a perfect stranger wander through their garden in order to get into a house belonging to someone they don't know, I must say

I'm not really here Posted Jan 22, 2007
I did that a lot a few years ago. Mow I've got doors you can only lock with a key, even from the outside, so no more locking ourselves out!

Last week I locked the RV door with all our keys inside. We were in the Sonoroan Desert surrounded by miles of Organ Pipe Cactus, about 5 miles north of the Mexican border and 40 miles south Ajo, the nearest US town with any services.
I had my cell phone, but the battery was dead. Luckily we had left the Toyota unlocked with a spare key for that vehicle and a cell charger inside it...the road service number was in the glovebox.
After a call to road service, 60 minutes later a man arrived and popped the lock in about 4 seconds...now I have a spare key wired to the RV frame...and not much confidence in vehicle lock security...

If the upper echelons of the BBC hadn't swooped down and deleted a load of entires a while back, you'd be able to read an EG entry on 'How to get into your car without the keys', written by yours truely. Sadly they did, so you can't.

I couldn't get in my bedroom on Saturday. I had the key but it just wouldn't open. After some gentle attempts to get the door open using credit cards and forks, I barged the door and opened it about third time. The lock is completely jammed in the locked position, but is no longer attached to the door, which makes ingress and egress easier. Must tell the landlord.
Key: Complain about this post
