Skin problems

Post 1

GreyDesk

For the last few weeks my Opera browser has been behaving rather oddly. Every now and again - that's probably every day actually - the skin will... well, 'just let go', is the best way of describing it.

The tabs lose their rounded edges; the contrast vanishes; some times the text disappears; then finally a bloody great big grey square appears on the left hand side of the screen filling 60% or more of it. Strangely if you ctrl-alt-del at this point the Task Manager will tell you that Opera is running just fine and that there are no problems, when obviously that isn't the case.

The only option you've got is to shut the browser and restart it. Now being Opera, a restart takes you straight back to where you were - minus the previous weirdness - and you carry on with whatever you were doing. But it is annoying none the less.

My strong suspicion is that there is something not quite right with the skin that I've been using, MeGuidDo, which I'm pretty convinced was never optimised for Opera 8.x. In actual fact I can't find the skin available for download any more, which makes me feel that it probably has been withdrawn as it's unstable. If that's the case, then that's a crying shame, as it was a lovely 'minimalist looking' black skin smiley - sadface

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho

I appear to be using TTT-blue 2.2 at the mo.
