Liverpool Council gave up *decades* ago replacing the Penny Lane signs that were getting nicked by Beatles tourists. They paint the name on buildings instead. And if I recall correctly the road itself, Penny Lane, is nothing to get excited about. It's just a dull suburban link road and nothing more.
Now I tell you, what would be good to have would be one of those "Strangeways ¼, Salford ½" signs

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho Posted Jan 18, 2006
Not sure I get your reference there GD, but you might not get this one either... not without some Googling anyway.
I'd love a 'Hatfield and the North' sign

I've tried to have that particular sign GD, it's just behind the MEN arena, near to the Boddy's brewery (as was). Nailed on pretty tight though.
