h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I have been very busy this last week searching for Service, but I couldn't find it. Not being able to find it led me to believe that the sign isn't a very good one as there isn't a Service in this country, so that got me looking for sorry. After much searching I couldn't find sorry either. So today when I saw the sign on the bus again today I decided this was the end, the bus company shouldn't be allowed to falsly advertise that bus route if it doesn't exist!

Now I was rather annoyed when I saw that bus today. When I saw the bus I jumped in front of its path and I went up to the bus driver and told him what I thought... he told me that it meant the bus wasn't going along a route so you couldn't flag it down. He treated me like an idiot, as did Anthea when I got home from my bus journey. She told me I was stupid for not knowing what the bus truely meant! How am I supposed to know what it meant? I am only 21 years old, am I supposed to know everything?

So now after my humilatating encounter with a 200pound bus driver, (and I tell you it looked like it would get pretty hairy there at one point) I have ecided to launch a campaign against such words being put on a bus! Instead it should either say 'Sorry, this bus is not in service'(which we know it isn't in service, as I saw it in blackpool) okay so maybe 'sorry, but this bus isn't for public use'. I don't know, but 'sorry, not in service' should be banned, it could confuse people about our dear country! They may start thinking that there is a sorry in service, or even a sorry that isn't in service, where ever they maybe.

So I have been thinking I should start my campagn in the well known place of Pity Me...

*cuddles Khamsin* Awwww, don't worry about the mean buses with their nonsense signs that could be interpreted differently. People should just ban all sentences where it could be taken different ways... like in the Futurama commentry when they mention how they had many an argument in the office about the big ape fights, whether they're fights featuring big apes, or a big fights featuring apes. Gah. Damn English language and its nonsense...

Just think how confused he'd be if he saw a bus that said 'School Service'

I'm sorry, but even the year 7s at our school in their first week of ever taking public transport know what 'Sorry, Not In Service' means.

If it doesn't have your route number on it, don't take it!
