UK Residents -

http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/

This is a serious forum to sign petitions that will (apparently) make their way to No.10 to be seriously considered by the UK Government.

However, I was a trifle worried at this one:

http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/cupoftea/

No one ever taught Tony how to make a cuppa?! The shame!

I'm not sure it's actually that no one taught him, perhaps he's not allowed to.

"No Tony, get away from the kettle."

"No Tony, that's not tea, that's Bisto."

"Please Tony, will you not put your finger in there dear, it's not where milk comes from."

Can you imagine tea with George Dubya and Tony?

"George! Don't TOUCH! HOT! Naughty boy!"

"Tony, leave that be, you'll make a mess."

I'd quite like to imagine Gordon and Tony making tea!

Gordon: How about a nice cup of tea Tony?

Tony: Tea? are you kidding? have you seen the price of tea these days!

It's amazing what you can do on the internet nowadays. I sued TalkTalk online yesterday.

Hope you didn't use their broadband to do it...

(apparently it's the second worst in the country after Orange...)

I'm not really here

Argh, I was just about to change to Talk Talk. I think I'll give it a miss in that case.

Yeah, BBC Watchdog did a report on broadband providers. The bad ones are Orange (wanadoo) and Talk Talk, the good ones are BT and Virgin (ntl/telewest).

Ah, in that case I won't swap, as I'm with BT and have been since 2002 (the longest time I've had the same email address...). I was thinking of changing because it's still so expensive when compared with other broadband providers.

I did try to change to Pipex last year, but BT gave me a dud code. smiley - cross

According to Watchdog, that was BTs only downfall - the cost.

Thanks! I did used to watch Watchdog, but then they changed the time to clash with Dragon's Den, and it's just no contest! Perhaps I'll stick with BT. It's worth paying for something that's worth the money I guess. I'd rather be out of pocket than out of internet. smiley - yikes

Felonious Monk - h2g2s very own Bogeyman

I spent virtually all of November, December and half of January without any broadband access and they were billing me until two days ago despite my repeated calls on Jan 11th and thereafter to cancel my service. They (not me) managed to cancel my direct debit without cancelling the account so I'm expecting the debt collector's letter any day now. I work out they owe me about £150 + £50 for inconvenience so I thought I'd get my retaliation in first. This is what I did:

If you check out the Watchdog site too FM, I think there's letters of disgust pre-written for you to add to your ammunition. Not sure though.
