Hello there Kittykat and welcome!

I've just been over to your page and browsed a bit. Your battle with your neighbour reminds me of a similar problem my family had when I lived in Wales as a kid. Hope things turn out okay...

I gather you arrived here when one of the message boards vanished; I hope you manage to contact some of your old friends again. You may have heard (I see you've made contact with a number of fine people - fancy meeting Peta so early in your residency!) that h2g2 suffered a sudden vanishing just over a year ago, when the old Dotcom collapsed. I had only just joined, so I was pretty dismayed, but luckily the Italics set up an e-group, which actually meant that I managed to meet a lot of people very quickly. That gave me a headstart when the BBC rescued us. Every cloud has a silver lining! It's a wonderful place - I was one of those people who thought Internet Communities were a bit silly until I realised I was part of one! As you say, I'm now pretty entrenched.

The oddest thing is that I can't quite remember how I first arrived here. I *think* it was through the recommendation of an old RL friend.

This whole experience is so fantastic that it's hard to sit still! Thank goodness most of the dinner is already made for tomorrow as I keep stealing time to get to the ever-on computer! I've not had much luck locating my friends - and that is EXACTLY what they are! There is one gentleman in particular that we are most anxious to contact. His name is Frank McCleod and he is a native American Indian (Chippewa Nation in South Dakota ). Among many other things he's a retired professor and a fabulous raconteur. Through our postings he was relating the tale of the "Horseherder" - a wonderful story that is native lore but quite obviously a lesson for all humans. We need to know how it evolves and reconciles; we NEED to find Frank! . I went through as many telephone listings as possible for South Dakota - have not found him. He mentioned he lived near where "Dances with Wolves" was filmed - but never told me the name of the town . BUT, I am one persistent and dedicated individual - I will "keep on keepin' on". NO MATTER WHAT !!! If you have any ideas or suggestions they would be most welcome. Thanks in advance for the donning of the "think caps". This is surely one of the most intelligent sites on the planet . But far more important --- I am overwhelmingly astonished by the caliber of individuals I've encountered. The HOSTS (albeit unwittingly) did me a tremendous service (speaking of silver linings!!). And I humbly thank the powers that be for this gift .
