Very interesting and well written. What a coup - having it on the front page on our first day back Ariel! Ariel? Are you there? Where are you?

I'm here! Wow...we're back!
Thanks Sal, as always... this was a great surprise for me. I got the e-mail and logged on and nearly tipped back in my chair!
Btw, my garden is being invaded by slugs... any suggestions? smiley - winkeye

Ariel! Ah, wonderful to see you! Yes I do have a suggestion, put some beer out for them. They get drunk, fall in and drown. Sorry if it seems a little bit unkind but I'm sure they die happy. Putting dry grit or ash round plants will protect them - slugs hate that. Salt will kill them but I feel sure they'd prefer to get drunk and drown in beer. Last resort: if your voice is as unmusical as mine, you could try singing to them so they leave your garden and bother your neighbours instead. smiley - winkeye

I haven't forgotten the bats, by the way.

Speak to you soon.

Congratulations on a great posting.
I've been fascinated by these drummers since last summer, when a small group assembled here in Brighton. They based themselves in an underpass leading to the seafront promenade, and proceeded to bash hell out of their instruments. A truly joyous and LOUD noise!
Cheers,
GreyDesk

Was that the underpass by the aquarium GreyDesk? Is it still an aquarium? I bet it would've sounded really loud and echoy down there. It would feel as though it was going right through you. Wow.

No, it was one a bit further along near the Brighton Centre.

There is still the acquarium by the Palace Pier but they have just redeveloped the area around it on Marina Drive. Its really nice now with some very well designed bars, restaurants and clubs.

I don't know how long you've been away, but Brighton is a really funky and happening place these days.

I left Brighton quite a few years ago. I was born there and lived there about 23 years. It always was a happening sort of place. I miss it.

Back on topic, I expect those drums would rock any underpass - and you'd know you'd been rocked!

If they moderate then I might ask them what language they thought it was written in smiley - whistlesmiley - winkeye

My ears are all ok, apart from a little bo-dooong bo-dooong tsing pooooing in the background. But this could just be the rhythm which is still circling around my brain smiley - smiley
