though I suppose Ginger Baker could be described as one. There are few people who have done more for drumming this century than Art Blakey, for example.

OOOHHH!!! Too bad I came upon this thread far too late in the game to add to the entry... or... wait...
Maybe I'm allowed to edit it still, although it's been approved!?? I don't know... and I also know just about NOTHING when it comes to jazz drummers, I am afraid...

I think you can do something. According to the Peer Review Page you can write another article. "We plan to introduce a system for updating entries via Peer Review soon, but in the meantime, please go to the Edited Entry concerned and post a link to your update there." That may be out of date - I'm sure there was something in the Post about it recently.

Alright... But first I must investigate and glean new knowledge... and I can not say precisely how eager I am to do any literary work at the moment... or any near-future moments, for that matter!!!

Manu Chao is one helluva jazz/soul/latin drummer. He drummed on Sting's live album which he recorded on September the 11th, plus he's a damn fine drummer outside of session recording.
